Our history
In 1905, John Frederick Wiessner, a Baltimore brewer and ice house magnate, established an orphanage for children in Highlandtown. Over the years the name changed, and in 1984 the foundation was formed to better meet the ever changing needs of children.
We fund schools, hospitals, camps, and community programs that care for children across Maryland.
How to apply
- Review the requirements.
Your organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and the funds must be used for children in Maryland. - Complete the application.
Download the PDF, then print and complete it. - Mail it in.
Send it with your financial information to our P.O. Box in Bel Air.
Applications are considered quarterly and must be received by January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, or October 1st.
